Adult ADHD is a very popular topic these days. Conventional medications can have some nasty side effects so many people are seeking natural treatments. There are plenty of natural treatments for adult ADHD, but keep in mind that not all of these will work for everyone and consulting a physician should be done prior to starting any treatment.
Gingko biloba
Many people seeking a natural treatment for adult ADHD take gingko biloba. Gingko biloba has been shown to increase the flow of blood to the brain, in turn helping the brain function properly. Gingko biloba may be especially helpful to people suffering from the inattentive type of ADHD. It has been suggested to take 120mg of gingko biloba everyday for the best results.
Skullcap
Though skullcap has been gaining popularity in the natural pain relief sector it may also be an effective natural treatment for adult ADHD. Skullcap is often praised for its effectiveness on the nervous system, therefore making it a great option as it can help alleviate the anxiety that sometimes accompanies ADHD, and can also help calm you so that you may concentrate better.

Gotu kola
Gotu kola has a reputation for improving memory and concentration. Concentration can be a major problem for those with adult ADHD so this may be a good natural treatment option and especially for those who simply cannot concentrate. It works similar to gingko biloba in that it helps improve circulation therefore improving the blood flow to the brain.
Valerian
Valerian is most commonly known for aiding those with insomnia and helping to relax tight muscles. Valerian is a great natural treatment for ADHD in the sense that it helps calm an over-stimulated brain, and calms the restlessness and anxiety than often accompanies ADHD.
Hawthorn
Those who are suffering from adult ADHD know that allergies can make matters worse and this is where hawthorn comes in. Allergies can cause inflammation, which can decrease the circulation of blood to the brain. Hawthorn counteracts this affect and helps to increase the circulation.
It is important to discuss any of these natural treatments with your physician. Some of these can be dangerous if you have health conditions and they can also be dangerous if mixed with other herbs, vitamins or medications. These natural treatments may work wonders for some people and not at all for others, so keep that in mind on your journey to finding a natural treatment for adult ADHD.
