Vivienne Took the Driver’s Learner’s Permit Test and Passed!

Mom Susan Palmberg shares her joy after her daughter passed her Driver’s Learner’s Permit:

We had such a celebration! Vivienne took the Driver’s Learner’s Permit Test and Passed! Now, at age 15, she is able to drive a car with her permit as long as she is with her Daddy or me.

It was amazing. It is not an easy test to read. The questions include wording like: “yield to all highway maintenance vehicles and workers in a construction zone,” or “how you must approach a stationary vehicle on the shoulder of the expressway.”

When I saw the sample test I was deeply concerned. It included a lot of unfamiliar words and concepts. But I had Vivienne read through the online practice test with me at home. And I was relieved to see how she approached the words and worked through them and read her way through the test. It would never have happened without Edublox. I mean it. For years I did everything I could to help her with reading, tried so many different programs and curriculums… but we kept hitting brick walls. But then thankfully, I found Edublox. And the developers of Edublox have seen it all …all kinds of kids and their myriad of diverse struggles… and they have an approach and an ingenious system to reach these kids and help their brains learn to read. What a blessing! They taught Vivienne to read, and she was able to read and pass a difficult Driver’s Permit Test! Years ago, we didn’t think it would ever be possible; it would take a miracle. Yet here we are.

She didn’t want to tell her Daddy that she was going to take the test that day. She wanted to surprise him. So, what a joy and surprise it was when we returned home and she showed him her new permit! She was so proud of herself. We were beyond proud of her. Then we had to share with family and friends… and right after that, we had to share with her Edublox tutor! We had to thank her for helping us reach this milestone!

Vivienne continues to progress with reading and math today, and her progress is in large part due to her tutors who continue to work with her. Vivienne has other learning and brain struggles beyond reading and math that require sometimes tweaking and adapting her learning plan… and I thank God that they monitor her progress, continue to reevaluate how she is doing, and then make changes to help her reach her maximum growth and potential. It has been life-changing! She is reading, driving, and can now even do division and fractions as well!

Thank you, Sue. Thank you, Caitlin. Thank you, Desiree. We couldn’t have done it without you!
